These materials reflect Newborg's efforts as radio station manager of WBKY to utilize radio as an educational and cultural medium. Among the holdings are letters, school surveys, Lee County school rules and regulations, news programs, program schedules, a record list, and scripts for program episodes. There is a draft of a 1979 article by Newborg which appeared in PUBLIC TELECOMMUNICATIONS REVIEW (vol. 7, no. 5), and a draft copy of that article entitled "Educational Broadcasting's first rural station--radio station WBKY--1940-1941." A scrapbook contains photos, clippings and memorabilia relating to WBKY, Newborg, and Elmer G. Sulzer who was director of radio activities at the University of Kentucky.
